TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Players are expected to attend every practice and team function.  Players are to be on time and are epected to remain until the entire team is dismissed.  (All equipment must be put away properly, all trash picked up, all dugouts cleaned, and the field properly maintained, before the team is dismissed.)
Attendance will be taken at each practice.  Players MUST be present for the practice prior to any game or they will not be permitted to play in the at contest.  Exceptions will be made for school related activities (where a grade will be received.)  Players who are absent, tardy, or leave before the team is dismissed will be penalized.  Penalties will include but not be limited to; being assigned duties, running laps or sprints, running Pot of Gold's, being sent home from practice, not starting a game, or sitting out a game.  Players who are excessively absent, tardy, or leave early will lose playing time.  (Three times will be considered excessive.)  Exceptions will be made for extended illnesses and injuries.  Being absent without notifying a coach will result in loss of playing time.  Asking a fellow teammate to notify a coach for you will not be accepted as notification.  Players are to report to their immediate coach (the coach they practice with most) with any problems, complaints, or requests.
Players are to report to the coaching staff before going to see the trainer.
There will be a concession schedule posted and each player will be required to provide an adult worker.  Any missed concession assignment will result in a one game suspension.
Each player will be provided a uniform, which includes one game jersey and one pair of shorts and/or pants.  All uniforms will be returned at the end of each season.  Any player that does not return their uniform will be reported to the Athletic Director and School Principal.  Each player is required to purchase one team jacket, helmet and a bat bag.  Each player is also responsible to purchase one pair of socks, one pair of sliders, and one long-sleeved undershirt.  (Under Armour is recommended) Visors are optional.  No player will be allowed to play until properly equipped.

Players are required to bring all of their uniforms and equipment to each game and practice.  Players are required to have both indoor and outdoor clothing and shoes for practice.  Be prepared to practice inside or out and be prepared to practice if a game is cancelled due to inclement weather.  Players who do not have proper gear will be penalized.  Penalties will be the same as listed above.

NO CELL PHONES AT PRACTICE OR AT GAMES.  Cell phones are to be kept put away and used only for emergencies or after the team has been dismissed.

Friends and/or boyfriends are not permitted at practice, but parents are permitted to come and watch.  Please do not bring children to practice.  there is a risk of being injured by a ball or bat.  Please refrain from trying to coach or come onto the field.  The field and dugout is our classroom, any outside interference will not be tolerated.  Any player who is being distracted by a parent, friend, or relative may be sent home.  Our players are expected to take care of any needs prior to entering the field and dugout.

Players are to remain together during games and are to be supervised by a coach or parent.  Players are required to ride the team bus to and from games.  Exceptions will be made when parents cannot return to the school to pick up their child and a release is signed in advance by the Athletic Director.  Example - we are in Indy and parents are not going home.  Players who violate this rule will be suspended one game.

Foul language, rude and un-sportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated.  That includes making rude and negative comments about teammates and coaches.  Bullying will not be tolerated.  Parents are expected to show the same restraint.  Please represent our school and team in a positive manner.  Penalties will apply.

Players who are unhappy about playing time should talk with their immediate coach about how they can increase their opportunities to play more.  Playing time is solely up to the coaching staff and is based on performance.  Coaches will always be happy to discuss what players need to improve on, and will be available for conference after practice.  Parents should make an appointment if they wish to talk to a coach.  Coaches will also respond to emails.  Please do not tie up our cell phones, call them only for emergencies or SHORT conversations.  Coaches may not answer their phones during practice or after 7pm.  and will not answer on Sunday mornings.

Coaches WILL NOT be available for conferences until 24 hours after a contest and WILL NOT discuss playing time.  Coaches are here for ALL our players and the team comes first.
